Who woulda thunk that the government would abuse its shiny new ability to execute secret searches that are completely unauthorized by the powers vested in it by the Constitution for something other than it was intended for? That could NEVER happen, right? Over the period of 2006-2009, secret “sneak-and-peek” searches, searches which allow the government to search without a warrant, were used more than 100x as often to prosecute the war on drugs than it was the war on terrorism.
