White House aides said they didn’t try to talk the Times out of publishing the reports because they knew WikiLeaks would publish the information regardless.
So your thinking is that if WikiLeaks wasn’t going “to publish the information regardless” you would have tried? How about not trying to talk the Times out of publishing the leaks because you have no fucking business interfering with our free fucking press, assholes.
