City leaders are finalizing a proposal which will ask voters to spend more money on car tabs in order to fund backlogged road maintenance and transit projects.

On Tuesday, City Councilmember Tom Rasmussen led a public forum on the proposal. The council is considering asking voters to spend $80, at the time of license renewal, to create up to $25 million in extra revenue. They say the money would be spend to also improve bike lanes, pave rough roads, and improve the streetcar line.

If bikers want bike lanes, ask fucking bikers to pay for them. If street car riders want the streetcar improved, ask fucking streetcar riders to pay for them. Drivers ALREADY pay a tax designed to pay for road improvements: the fucking gas tax, not to mention drivers license and car registration fees.
