The government has not said whether any of the people killed by security forces were armed. And although almost a thousand people were arrested and detained for days, all but 10 of them were eventually released without charge.
A side note to the collateral damage in Jamaica as a result of a wreckless drug war, and the main point behind Fahim’s story: it’s fuckin’ terrible that these drug bosses are better and more reliable at providing security and jobs for the people who live and work in the areas controlled by said bosses than the government.1
