Oh Noes!!

People outside the political establishment are saying things that perhaps affect what happens in politics!! Oh Noes!! We just can’t have the little people having their voices heard!!

The problems that some have with the Super PACs is not that they facilitate “unlimited corporate money” that flows in to advertising for particular candidates, but that the money, and the message, are controlled by those outside the process rather than by political insiders. Politicians and their handlers no longer have sole control over election narratives, and others of us who care to have a voice in the process now have the opportunity to be heard because of our ability to freely associate with those who share particular viewpoints and pool our financial resources together so that we might have an opportunity to have this viewpoint heard in a way that we never could have before. Despite the lamentations of the left that these new Super PACs are controlled by wealthy individuals (who were never barred from giving even before Citizens United enabled Super PACs), what these entities ACTUALLY allow are for people like me, who has never had a public political voice before due to my meager resources to have that voice heard outside of this mostly unread blog, to associate with those who think similarly, and willingly pool my limited financial resources in with theirs so that we might have an opportunity to have our voice(s) heard on a large scale with a message that WE control.
