Poverty Level Way Up

Saturday 18 September 2010 - Filed under Dumbassery + Economy + Government

This is a sign that we need more government intervention (despite the fact that we’re spending more on the “War on Poverty™” than ever before)” in 3 . . . 2 . . . 1.

Politicians don’t want to solve the poverty problem because they require poverty in order to continually increase the size and scope of government. If they solve poverty, they’ll have to dismantle a large portion of government, and they just can’t have that.

Is there a Czar of Poverty? There seems to be a Czar for almost everything in government. Who is this Czar, and can we write to him and say, “I understand your job title is Czar of Poverty, but can you, like, stop it?” Or will “curing” poverty leave him unemployed, and therefore, IN poverty? Tough questions. Here’s another, why do we have Czars of anything? Isn’t the title of Czar something that does not exist in a “Democracy”?
