No More Pork
Tuesday 9 November 2010 - Filed under election + Government + Tea Party
Newly voted-in Tea Party congressmen are moving for a ban on all earmarks. This is good idea for two reasons:
1) It will not allow congressmen to be bribed in to voting for bills they are opposed to. Earmarks have long been used to sway a particular person’s vote when he/she would otherwise not support a bill. “If you vote for this bill, we’ll put in ‘x’ number of dollars to support that pet cause of yours.” This kid of shit will be gone and a major portion of corruption will be eviscerated.
2) It will no longer allow incumbents to bribe their constituents by bringing home pork.
