God Bless America

Wednesday 14 November 2012 - Filed under Uncategorized

Who else but an American could have come up with something as awesome as this?

Many people keep cremated remains in an urn on the mantle or scatter their loved one’s ashes over a sacred place.

Now, a company has pioneered a new twist: putting cremated remains into ammunition.

Thad Holmes and Clem Parnell, who founded Holy Smoke last year, say business is picking up, and they’ve received orders from as far away as South America and Europe.
For $850, Holy Smoke will take cremated remains and put them into various types of shotgun shells and bullets for rifle and pistol shooters. The Stockton, Ala., company was started a year ago by two state game wardens.

Literally and figuratively, Holy Smoke’s business is “booming.” Clem Parnell, a co-founder, thought the families of the dead should have a livelier method to honor those who enjoyed the outdoors.

“Wouldn’t it be cool to put some ash in a shell, to the point of a 250-round case of shells, and all his friends could go out and have a day on the range and celebrate the way this guy used to be?” Parnell says. “The way he was when he was alive — vibrant and enjoying life.”

God bless America.

These Do Not Belong to You

Tuesday 13 November 2012 - Filed under Uncategorized

Many libertarians will generally not vote for any candidate in the modern democratic party because of their crusade to institute Top Men™ type statism in all facets of government. Until republicans rid themselves of their big government policy and start living up to their small government rhetoric, it’s time they learn that libertarians will not vote for them either.

On Friday, Garrett Quinn pointed out two congressional races in which a Libertarian Party candidate received considerably more votes than the margin separating a winning Democrat from a losing Republican: Massachusetts’ 6th District (48.3%-47.3%-4.5%** for Rep. John Tierney over Richard Tisei and Daniel Fishman), and Utah’s 4th District (49.3%-48.1%-2.6%** for Rep. Jim Matheson over Mia Love and Jim Vein).

These votes do not belong to you. If you can’t do enough to earn my vote, that’s your fucking fault, not mine.

Nope

NOT a libertarian. Dondero has been decisively shunned in virtually every libertarian circle he’s tried to infiltrate with his authoritarian nonsense. He is a statist conservative who fancies himself libertarian because to call oneself conservative is just not as cool as it used to be.

Can we have legal weed for president instead?

In Colorado, weed is more popular than President Barack Obama.

More people voted for Amendment 64 — which legalizes and regulates recreational use of marijuana — than voted for the president.

As of Thursday morning, with 100 percent of precincts reporting their results, 1,291,771 votes in favor of Amendment 64 had been tallied. Obama received 1,238,490 votes, 53,281 fewer than the amendment.

Please? Surely a benign plant can do a better job than The One™

The Narrative™

Can we dispense with the false narrative peddled on to us that free speech is a bad thing? WaPo:

Never before has so much political money been spent to achieve so little.

Record spending by independent groups, which in many ways defined how campaigns were waged this year, had no discernible effect on the outcome of most races, according to an analysis by The Washington Post.

When free speech is decried as a bad thing, one only look to those decrying said free speech as to who it hurts: political establishmentarians, journalists, and academics.

What good is a piece of property if the man who owns it can’t take a piss on it? News One 6:

A 3 year old gets his mom in trouble with the law when he gets a ticket from police. Now the little boy’s mother will have to pay thousands of dollars for what the toddler did in their own front yard.
Dillan is being potty trained. His mother says he wasn’t playing outside and wasn’t near the facilities, so he unzipped.

News 9 was told before he could pee, a Piedmont police officer stopped him. It’s a bathroom break that cost mom $2,500.

“Dillan pulled down his pants to pee outside. I guess and the cop pulled up and asked for my license and told me he was going to give me a ticket for public urination,” the boy’s mother, Ashley Warden, said.

“I said really, he is 3 years old, and he said it doesn’t matter,” said Dillan’s grandmother, Jennifer Warden. “[He said] It is public urination. I said we are on our property and he said it’s in public view.”

The family lives on two-and-a-half acres and says the street is actually quite rural; but they say the officer who cited them parks at the end of their street daily. So they asked why.

Because you know, we’d be just like Somalia if we didn’t have police who issued citations to 3 year olds who pee on their own fucking property. Piss off, copper.

Way to Celebrate

Doesn’t every president who get re-elected celebrate by dropping bombs in a country with which are not at war?

The Tolerant Left

This is what happens when you disturb the beehive mentality of the left.

“Cunt”, “bitch”, and a hope that she has a gay child as punishment, yet I’m supposed to believe that it’s Team RED that has the misogyny and homophobia issues?

Destroyed

A New Jersey floating bar survived Sandy, only to be destroyed by the police.

Debbie and Louis Kallif were met with a glimmer of hope days after the storm, when they finally received an email from a friend who saw pictures of their bar on MailOnline, intact and in its new location in Gerritsen Beach.

As they scrolled through the story, however, their hearts sank again as they learned that city officials ordered the largely-undamaged bar to be smashed to pieces to make room for the ongoing clean-up effort.

Reminder from Radley Balko

Tuesday 6 November 2012 - Filed under Uncategorized

The media isn’t liberal; it’s statist.

Interesting what happens when you take these two editorials [concerning medical marijuana and doctor assisted suicide] together. We can’t trust doctors and terminally ill patients to come to a decision about allowing a patient to peacefully, painlessly end his own life, because all of the experts, politicians, and elites haven’t yet decided what’s best for the patient. And we can’t let that same patient relieve his pain with marijuana, because the experts aren’t yet in agreement about the benefits of the drug (in part because the same bureaucratic structure refuses to allow the drug to be used for medical research), and in any case, because the proposed law doesn’t give nearly enough power to government to keep the drug away from people. (The Globe also endorses restricting access to prescription painkillers, by the way.)

The message the Globe editorial board is sending to people with chronic pain and terminal illness is pretty clear: Government power is far more important than your pain. So just fucking suffer.

The mainstream media cannot die quickly enough. What “serves the larger interest of the state” is meaningless. The only thing that matters is what empowers individuals to make decisions concerning their health on their own.
