Get Frustrated at Airport Dehumanization, Get on TSA Database

Thursday 27 May 2010 - Filed under Dumbassery

Thomas Frank via USA Today:

Airline passengers who get frustrated and kick a wall, throw a suitcase or make a pithy comment to a screener could find themselves in a little-known Homeland Security database.

The Transportation Security Administration says it is keeping records of people who make its screeners feel threatened as part of an effort to prevent workplace violence.

Perhaps if airline passengers weren’t treated like shit and routinely dehumanized by security screeners while travelling, the TSA wouldn’t have need to keep a database of travellers who show outward signs of frustration with their travel experience.  Though there were certainly other considerations besides the utter ass raping that is air travel, my vacation this year involves travel by rail.
