The More I see, The Less I Likey

And no I’m not talking about ObamaCare this time, but Rand Paul.  I was of the mind that he represents a very good chance at getting a consistently pro-liberty senator in the federal government.  But with each piece of news I hear since his slaughter of republitard establishment favorite Grayson, I lean more towards the idea that he is a small government guy, except for when it comes to enforcing conservative ideas at the federal level such as abortion and medicare and medicaid.  It’s sad that he’s appearing to be your average conservatard in libertarian clothing.

My only hope for him now is that he has essentially been forced to dial back on his libertarianism while running for office in order to appear more politically viable to swing voters, but I’m not holding my breath.  If he keeps moving further and further towards mainstream conservatardism, I’ll have to abstain come November.
