From Request to Lawsuit
Wednesday 20 October 2010 - Filed under Dumbassery + Legislation + Military + POTUS
Last week a federal judge declared the military’s “Don’t Ask Don’t Tell” policy unconstitutional. The next day, Obama asked that she put a stay on the decision. The judge denied the request.
But rather than allow the ban die a merciful death, Obama will be filing a lawsuit to force a moratorium on the ban. Awesome job, Mr. President. WaPo:
Meanwhile, a federal judge declined Tuesday to lift her injunction on the military’s “don’t ask, don’t tell” law.
U.S. District Court Judge Virginia A. Phillips’s decision likely means the Justice Department will ask the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals in San Francisco to stop her moratorium on the gay ban. The government already plans to appeal to the 9th Circuit to overturn Phillips’s decision that “don’t ask” is unconstitutional.
I’m glad to see you fighting so hard for the rights of homosexuals that you’re actually suing to keep them out of the military. Way to to be all hopey-changey.

How about a ban on ANYONE being in the military right now. I’m not one of those “no war” folks, but seriously if you live in this country and we’re at war, you should be allowed to fight for your country. If not… how about we just call off the whole war and come home.
